How Do You Know if You're Suffering Fatigue?

There are many misconceptions about fatigue. It's important to define fatigue as a symptom rather than a specific disease or disorder. Fatigue is not a condition of feeling once in a while tired, which can be for many reasons. People suffering from fatigue feel very tired all the time, on a long term basis. The areas affected are the body and mind. Yes, unlike being tired for common things from ordinary life, like work, family choirs, or study, when you have fatigue your mind health is flaky. This leads you to being down and even depression.

A person suffering from fatigue has slowed reflexes and reduced function in daily life. Excessive tiredness is also a known risk factor in motor vehicle and workplace accidents. It's even advised for people with fatigue taking days off at work because they put themselves and colleagues at risk.

Fatigue can cause a vast range of other physical, mental and emotional symptoms like:

• Chronic tiredness or sleepiness

• Headaches/dizziness

• Sore or aching muscles/muscle weakness

• Slow reflexes and responses

• Inability to make judgments

• Mood swings

• Memory loss/ poor concentration/hallucinations/low motivation

• Reduced immune system function

• Bad eye coordination/blur

• Appetite loss

If you are suffering fatigue, check if you have these problems in your life:

• Possible medical conditions you might not be aware of (undiagnosed by a medical practitioner)

• Unhealthy eating and lifestyle choices (bad sleeping/lack of exercise)

• Workplace stress

• Relationship stress

• Emotional needs not fulfilled

Fatigue can be caused by a number of these problems working in combination, be sure to drink plenty of water, avoid caffeine drinks, don't skip meals (not eating at allows blood sugar to drop), don't over eat (spread your food in 5 meals over the day), and eat iron rich foods (necessary to avoid anaemia, ie.red meat) to help you cope with fatigue in your daily life.
